In the years 1999/2000, a mechanical-biological waste treatment plant (MBT) was built at the Rennerod site for a throughput capacity of 400 Mg of domestic waste per day.

The target of the waste treatment plant is the production of substitute fuel for further thermal utilisation. The plant started operation in May 2000.

to the detailed plant description

The engineers of Waste Tec GmbH were significantly involved in the planning, construction and commissioning of the plant during the planning phase up to the start of regular operation and are still working as consulting engineers for the MBS Westerwald.

Following is a brief overview of the services performed:

2008 up to 2010

Planning for the extension of the plant capacity through optimization of the ventilation technology and replacement of the complete process control system

2011 up to 2014

Turn key refurbishment of the plant’s process control and process visualisation

2019

Planning of a new storage hall for RDF as well as the development of the concept for the installation of a further secondary shredding stage
