The Rhein-Kreis Neuss is the owner of a biowaste and green waste composting plant with a capacity of 60,000 Mg per year.
In 2010, the district considered adding a fermentation stage to the composting plant.
A feasibility study was put out to tender and awarded to Waste Tec GmbH.
